Experience
Jason Nguyen is a co-founder of Nguyen Roche Sutton and a Maryland litigator who represents individuals and businesses in complex disputes across the state. His work spans trial and appellate matters, with a practice built around early case assessment, disciplined preparation, and straightforward strategic advice.
Jason began his career handling Appellate work for the Office of the Maryland Attorney General, arguing before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals (now the Appellate Court of Maryland). He has since represented clients in Maryland’s District and Circuit Courts and on appeal, resolving matters through negotiation, bench trials, jury trials, and appellate advocacy when necessary.
Before co-founding the firm, Jason’s experience included serving as Senior Counsel at a federal administrative law firm, where he handled hearings nationwide, as well as leadership roles at both a boutique practice and a large Maryland family/domestic firm. He has also served in the Maryland Office of the Public Defender’s Felony Trial Division and worked with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Detainee Affairs on detainee-related litigation matters connected to Joint Task Force Guantanamo.
Jason advises businesses and business owners on contentious matters and serves as general counsel to companies, including a multinational corporation, an aerospace firm, and a restaurant group franchisor. In high-stakes disputes, he is often asked by other attorneys to step in when cases are nearing trial or require a fresh strategic approach.
Outside the office, Jason enjoys travel and time outdoors, with stories that range from international trips to an offshore sailboat rescue assisted by the United States Coast Guard.
“Truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it and ignorance may deride it, but, in the end, there it is.”
– Winston Churchill
